Transcribe audio files from Google Drive using OpenAI Whisper and send an email
Easily transcribe audio files stored on Google Drive with OpenAI Whisper, automate transcription, store on a Google Doc and instantly email the doc for ease of communication. Please note that the Whisper API file limit is 25mb, we have used CloudConvert to convert these files to smaller mp3 files for Whisper to transcribe.
How it works
This automation transcribes audio files stored in Google Drive using OpenAI Whisper, saves the output in a Google Doc, and sends it via email — making it easy to share transcriptions quickly. If the audio file exceeds Whisper’s 25MB limit, CloudConvert compresses it to ensure successful transcription. Perfect for turning voice memos, meetings, or interviews into written content automatically.
How to use
Upload your audio files to a designated folder in Google Drive.
Connect your CloudConvert account to compress files larger than 25MB.
Whisper (OpenAI) will transcribe each audio file into text.
The text is stored as a Google Doc, which is then downloaded.
An email is sent automatically with the transcription file attached.
The flow resumes for the next file, ensuring continuous processing.
